LAUNCH NIGHT
January 2005: the ICD Launch Night at Square Chapel Arts Centre in Halifax. Rumoured to be the Chapel's largest audience ever for contemporary theatre...

Stalls with absurdist participatory games, Falling precariously balanced objects, a butoh chicken race, Flash3 (our dog) in a trailer outside, and roaming groups of people singing 'how much is that doggy in the window'...
A blank scroll dropped from the high rafters symbolised the smashing champagne bottle and extraordinary break-, ballet-, contemporary-, and eccentric-dancing with live music and djs concluded a night not to be forgotten...

SEVEN ARTS
07.07.2007: Working in conjunction with Leeds Youth Jazz, 7 local poets, all the staff at the arts centre and an inspirational group of collaborators...

Launched the new venue with a walk around the locality hearing fragments of the final score at stopping points where participations, performances, contemplations, poetry, beer, dancing and tree based aerial work took place.

When the fragments of the score pieced together at the champagne reception everyone heard a 7 minute elaboration on the theme tune for the Magnificent Seven...
BEAM

Prized with the task of re-launching the public arts company BEAM (based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire) the ICD created a launch event with a large scale participatory jigsaw: a beach beam of wood, with pine and beech pieces, connected by dowel pegs.
Fifty-eight pieces in total - which the attendees at the launch event were invited to play with and piece together...
